UK's BT Teams with Post Office for Broadband Sales

LONDON: The UK's dominant telco, BT, has inked a £750 million ($1.47bn; €1.09bn) four-year deal to supply the Post Office with wholesale communications services to support the latter's entry into the British broadband market.

BT has just reclaimed it position as the country's largest supplier of highspeed online access, adding 440,000 users in the first quarter of 2007 and bringing its customer total to 3.66m.

The Post Office, a unit of the state-owned Royal Mail Group, will act as a re-seller of BT products, offering broadband to its 400,000 HomePhone users.
