Britain's largest telco BT has inked a deal that will enable it to transmit over 500 concerts and performances by major artistes such as Sheryl Crow, The Pixies, Morrissey and The Who via its upcoming broadband internet TV service.
Scheduled for an autumn launch, the new platform, branded BT Vision, will offer all thirty Freeview channels including content from the preceding seven days. It will also provide pay-per-view programming such as the concert series. There will be no mandatory monthly subscription.
Other pay-per-view delights include on-demand film, TV and music programming, DVR technology and an interactive communications service.
BT View, which was announced late last year [WAMN: 09-Dec-06] differs from competitors' offerings in that it combines broadband-powered VOD with access to digital-terrestrial channels via standard TV antenna.
