LONDON: UK industry body the RadioCentre has launched a new online player enabling access to thousands of online radio stations and programmes worldwide.

Developed as a media marketing tool for advertisers, agencies and other business interests, TheRadioCentrePlayer links users to over 10,000 commercial and public service radio stations.

Says RadioCentre ceo Andrew Harrison: "The [player] makes it easy for marketers, media agencies, city analysts and industry stakeholders to access online the full range of UK commercial Radio stations available on the internet.

"Although priority is given to linear commercial radio - regular programming with presenters - there's a full range of content, including podcasts and we even facilitate listeners' access to audio from the BBC."

Intended as a desktop standard for the UK radio industry, the new site provides a major database of internet radio streams plus a search-engine optimised for relevance and speed. It also offers an intuitive GUI that stores playlists and histories.
