Tobacco barons mount Web defence

THE US TOBACCO industry has mounted a PR offensive on the Web to counter the image of secrecy and denial that has hung over the sector in recent years. Company memos and research reports dating back many years have been posted on the Web site, in an effort to achieve a public image of openness. [The site’s omissions are probably of greater relevance than those included but check for yourself - if you have a few months to spare!]
