Time to Ditch Niche Titles

NEW YORK: Media giant Time Warner is selling 18 of its smaller magazine titles, including Popular Science, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream and Yachting.

Its Time Inc publishing division will focus on its larger titles such as Time, People and Sports Illustrated with their more lucrative online potential, says ceo Anne Moore.

Like other publishers, Time has struggled to keep revenues healthy as more advertisers and readers head to the internet. It posted a 2% slide in revenues for the second quarter and an 11% drop in profits.
