Time Warner Marketing Boss to Head AOL Ad Unit

Time Warner's global marketing president Michael J Kelly is taking control of the new ad unit at America Online.

Kelly will be in charge of AOL's networks sales and solutions department, created last week to boost its ad sales, search and ecommerce business [WAMN: 09-Jan-04]. His appointment was expected at the time but has only now been confirmed.

Previously in charge of AOL's ad sales was executive vp Lisa Brown, who is leaving the company after just six months in the hotseat.

Time Warner, AOL's parent, plans to appoint a new global marketing president to succeed Kelly.
