Chicago-based True North Communications yesterday announced a major reorganisation of the senior management structure within its group media operations.

The revamp was triggered by the imminent departure of Mike Drexler, 61, executive vice president and global media director at FCB Worldwide in New York. Said he: "The time has come for me to turn the mantle over to a team of executives who I know will take True North's media operations to the next step." He added that his own future plans would "focus more on the new-media world."

Drexler is succeeded by Scot Butler, 49, currently executive vice president and media director at the Chicago office of FCB. He also fills the new post of president at True North media services agency, TN Media. In addition, two senior members of FCB sibling shops assume the added duties of executive vice presidents at TNM – Michael Bracken, 52, executive vice president and media director at Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas; and Lillian Kennedy, 44, managing partner and media director at the Bozell Group in New York.
