London-based Added Value, the strategic marketing arm of the Tempus Group, has established a foothold in the USA with the acquisition of Fusion 5, a Westport, Connecticut, strategic and research agency.

The initial payment comprised $9 million in cash and shares with a similar mix of up to $20m payable, dependent on results, over the next three years.

Now rebranded as Fusion 5/Added Value USA, the company employs thirty staff and attracts revenues in excess of $10m from clients such as Coca-Cola, Disney and Ford. It will operate autonomously with president Patrick Meyer (47) and principal/chief creative officer Robin Austin (46) retaining their respective roles.
