Spanish Adspend at Alltime High in 2006

26 January 2007

MADRID: Spanish advertising expenditure in 2006 hit an alltime high, passing the €7 billion ($9.07bn; £4.61bn) mark for the first time, reports the Madrid office of Publicis Groupe's Optimedia.

The media agency predicts that the upward trend will continue in line with national economic growth through 2007, increasing by 5.3% to €7.4bn.

All media sectors are expected to benefit from the growth trend, with TV, the internet and controlled circulation newspapers leading the pack. The outlook, although still positive, is less bullish for radio, magazines, outdoor and cinema.
