Six Slug It Out for Ikea’s $50m-$60m Adspend

Swedish furniture giant Ikea has put its $50-$60 million US marketing communications account up for grabs, naming six contenders.

The sextet comprises Toronto’s Bensimon Byrne D'Arcy (a Bcom3 unit); Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis (Interpublic); Miami independent Crispin Porter & Bogusky; Fallon New York (Publicis Groupe); the Martin Agency of Richmond, Virginia (Lowe Group/Interpublic); and Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/ Euro RSCG in New York (Havas).

A shortlist will be announced at the end of November with the victor garlanded in December or January.

The review follows last month’s severance between Ikea and its agency of eleven years, Deutsch of New York.
