Saban Lieutenant Takes Reins at Germany's ProSieben

25 March 2004

US billionaire Haim Saban has strengthened his control of German television giant ProSiebenSat.1 after the unexpected resignation of chief executive Urs Rohner.

Stepping into Rohner's shoes is chief operating officer Guillaume de Posch. The new ceo is known to be an ally of Saban, who took control of the broadcaster last year [WAMN: 11-Aug-03].

Rohner's departure follows the first signs of a turnaround at the long-suffering broadcaster. De Posch is expected to continue his predecessor's focus on cutting costs.
