04 March 2005

No one is indispensable, believes Saatchi and Saatchi in New York.

The agency has announced its first major hiring following the mass exodus last month of 17 staff working on its $550 million (€418m, £287m) General Mills account.

Further hirings, internal promotions and even a return to the fold of some of those who walked in the direction of Interpublic Group are expected in the coming weeks.

GM, which manufactures brands such as Cheerios cereal and Yoplait yogurt, has remained publicly non-committal over its commitment to Saatchi [WAMN: 28-Feb-2005] but the agency says it has been has repeatedly assured the business is safe.
