10 March 2006

ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO - Liberty Media, controlled by tycoon John C Malone, on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter year-on-year loss despite a 14% revenue increase from its QVC shopping channel - whose performance was negated by flat sales at Liberty's Starz and Encore premium movie channels.
In the quarter ended December 31, Liberty posted a loss of $86 million (€72.15m; £49.52m), alongside a loss of $2 million in the comparable 2004 period.
Revenue totaled $2.45 billion, up year-on-year from $2.17bn.
