Omnicom Group, the planet's largest marketing services agency network, turned in Q1 numbers that befit its pole position. Worldwide revenues rose 15% to $2.2 billion (€1.85bn; £1.23bn), compared with $1.9 billion a year ago.
Net income surged 17% to $135.6 million, up year-on-year from $115.5m. Diluted earnings per share increased 16% to 72 cents, up from 62 cents in the 2003 first quarter.
Stateside revenues zoomed 11% to $1.2 billion ($1 billion last year) while international revenues did better yet, up 21% to $1bn from $837.6 million.
