Publicis Swoops for Nelson

After nearly a month of negotiations [WAMN: 20-Oct-00], French network Publicis Groupe has acquired New York’s Nelson Communications.

Financial details of the deal, thought to be worth around $200 million, were not disclosed, although Publicis conceded that it was buying 100% of privately owned Nelson.

The medical agency, with billings of over $1 billion, has been renamed Nelson Communications Worldwide, merging with Publicis’ other healthcare units such as Klemtner Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare and Publicis Wellcare.
