05 December 2008

BEIJING: Publicis Groupe, the world's fourth largest marketing services conglomerate, has beefed-up its operations in Asia with the purchase of full-service agency W&K Communications, which will now be rebranded as Leo Burnett Beijing Advertising.

W&KC employs around 100 staff, and its major clients include Air China, food manufacturers Daliyuan and Holiland, beer brand Tsingtao and insurance provider PICC.

Current chairman Guo Weijun and managing director Wang Yi will continue to head the agency, and will now report to Leo Burnett's Greater China ceo, Michael Wood.

Says Tom Bernardin, Leo Burnett's global chairman and ceo: "We will not only increase our market share, but we will create ideas that will connect with people and impact their behavior in a relevant, interesting and useful way.

"I anticipate great things from this partnership."
