Promo Activity Boosts Q3 UK Radio Ad Revenues

15 November 2007

LONDON: Commercial radio marketing body RadioCentre reports a 5.4% year-on-year surge in Q3 advertising revenues for the UK radio industry.

RadioCentre ceo Andrew Harrison hails 2007 as "a turning point for the commercial radio industry".

Despite a slight drop in revenues, percentage changes across the industry are better than those reported for Q2 this year, while national revenues are up 7.7% on Q3 2006 to £81.5million ($167.78m; €114.37m).

Local revenues were less buoyant, down 0.7% versus a rise of 1.2% in the preceding quarter.

Says Harrison: "Not only have we seen a record number of people tuning-in but advertisers are really recognising the power of radio advertising."
