Pepsi's US Marketing Chief Prepares to Make Her Exit

07 July 2008

PURCHASE, New York: Pepsi-Cola North America's marketing chief, Cie Nicholson (pictured), is leaving the company to "pursue other interests, like travel and spending time with family".

She joined the business in 1997 and worked her way up through the ranks, becoming marketing director of the Mountain Dew brand in 2000.

Among Nicholson's major contributions to the company's fortunes was the 2001 launch of Mountain Dew Code Red, which quickly became the soft drink industry's most successful new product in twenty years.

She was promoted to her current role at Pepsi in November 2005.

Her leaving date has not been set and no successor has yet been named.
