Pathmark to Spend $150m on Revamp

01 June 2001

Supermarket chain Pathmark Stores has announced it will devote $150 million to a new ad campaign, an ethnic marketing push and a store redevelopment program.

The group is based in the New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia regions – an area accounting for over 10% of the US population. Pathmark came close to bankruptcy earlier this year after the Federal Trade Commission prevented its acquisition by Dutch supermarket operator Royal Ahold.
