P&G Lures FTC Heavyweight to Its Legal Team

03 March 2008

CINCINATTI: As befits the world's top-spending advertiser, no expense has [presumably] been spared by Procter & Gamble in adding another three-star general to its legal corps.

No lesser personage than Deborah Platt Majoras, current chair of the Federal Trade Commission, will join P&G as vp-general counsel on June 1.

She will step into the shoes of – and report to – Stephen W Jemison, when on that date he takes over from retiree James J Johnson as P&G's chief legal officer.

Says a P&G spokeswoman: "Deborah has a terrific track record in public and private practice. Her primary responsibilities will be for the company's global antitrust and litigation practice areas."
