Omnicom Merges Two Brit Custom Publishing Houses

28 September 2001

The crisis gripping the global airline industry has extended to UK custom publishers Redwood Publishing and Premier Media Partners, both Omnicom-owned.

Premier, whose contracts include British Airways’ in-flight magazines High Life and Business Life, will be absorbed by Redwood. The merger, to be formally announced next week, sees the end of thirty years trading by Premier as a discrete entity.

Premier, which last November successfully defended its flagship BA contracts in a review – albeit at a substantially reduced fee, it is believed – has been hard hit by the slowdown in adspend, particularly exacerbated for in-flight titles by the September 11 atrocities.
