TWO NEW PRODUCTS unveiled at the Fall Internet World 97 exhibition in New York could impact significantly on incentive promotions and commerce on the Web ... -centives, from Emaginet - software that helps companies promote their products online with cyber-versions of coupons and points-collection schemes. An ‘electronic shop in a box’ from Ecanto Networks - a company founded by former Novell chief executive, Bob Frankenberg. The product, e.go Commerce, enables users to set-up a Web site for taking orders and receiving payment - claiming the entire process from start to taking the cash can be completed within thirty minutes! In looks, similar to a standard PC midi-tower, the ‘Webstation’ sells in the US for a mere $1,295 and is packaged in the same way as an off-the-shelf fax machine. It includes integral software to handle credit card payments as well as a design facility to create the interface with which potential customers will interact.
