Norway Contemplates Ban on Child-Focused Advertising

08 January 2001

Norway’s government is considering legislation to outlaw all advertising targeted at children under twelve.

Advertising to youngsters is already restricted on TV and radio, but the new measures – if adopted – will extend the ban to outdoor, print and all other media.

The legislation, which follows the publication of a special committee report on advertising to children, is expected to be passed in March.
