NewsCorp Reports Robust Q2 Results

NEW YORK - The Murdoch media empire's pre-tax profits rose to $1.08bn (€900m; £620m) in the fiscal second quarter, up from $386m in the same period last year.
   Total Q2 sales rose 1.5% to $6.7 billion, as News Corporation's businesses reported mixed performances: income from newspaper publishing fell 63%, and 20th Century Fox movie studio profits were down 27% year-on-year; but TV broadcasting profits rose 20% while profits from cable networks rose 15%.
