New Spanish Daily Hits the Streets

26 September 2007

MADRID: A new national Spanish newspaper was expected to hit the streets today (Wednesday). The left-leaning El Publico, backed by local publishing group Mediapro, will feature more and larger graphics, with shorter articles than its rivals.

It will cost €0.50, compared with the €1 ($1.40; 70pence) cover price of most of its competitors. Its focus will be on arts, science and sports, says director Ignacio Escolar.
