New Ceo for America's Advertising Review Council

NEW YORK: Lee Peeler, deputy director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the US Federal Trade Commission, has been named ceo of the National Advertising Review Council, the industry-funded body that polices advertising.

Peeler, who has been at the FTC for sixteen years, takes up the NARC reins on September 11 and will replace James Guthrie, who announced last month that he was stepping down.

NARC, a unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, regulates complaints and acts as mediator in disputes about advertising.
