Public Groupe, the Paris-headquartered global advertising and communications giant, yesterday reported record revenues for the first nine months of this year.
According to chairman Maurice Levy, these rocketed by 55% to £4.34 billion in the period to September 30, up from £2.8bn year-on-year. A major contribution of £203 million from June onward was made by Saatchi & Saatchi, acquired in that month for £1.4bn.
The rise in revenues was attributed to new business wins, while another key factor was Publicis’ increased presence in the USA.
Said Levy: The third quarter was very good and we are expecting an end-of-year result sharply higher." He also predicted that “new business activity at the moment is among the strongest we have seen and should bear fruit in 2001”.
