Internet research company Nielsen/NetRatings has temporarily withdrawn data relating to January from its service, stating that the figures – already distributed – had underestimated audience activity and traffic levels.
The company would give no further details, saying only: “We have reason to believe that the data [are] not correct.” It assured subscribers via email that a “corrective action plan” was under way.
NetRatings added that it would contact subscribers by email and phone with corrected data from Thursday. A more detailed schedule is expected by the end of today.
