NBC Partners with Amazon for Download Deal

06 September 2007

LOS ANGELES: NBC Universal has lost no time in forging new alliances following the breakdown of its relationship with Apple's iTunes.

The company has now inked a deal with Amazon to sell its television shows via the online retailer's Unbox digital download store. NBC refused to renew its contract with iTunes after the latter failed to give assurances on prices and piracy.

Comments NBC's president of digital distribution, Jean-Briac Perrette: "For us, this is business as usual. It's just one of the various outlets that are available to us. Apple's not the only game in town."
