Mouse House Revamps European TV Group

LONDON: The Walt Disney Company is to fully integrate its European programming sales, pay-TV channels and new-media partnerships under one umbrella and one top executive.

Tom Toumazis (pictured) will be based in London, with the impressive title of evp and managing director for Europe, the Mideast, Africa and Canada of Disney-ABC International Television.

The Mouse House's annual take from its overseas operations is estimated to be up to $3 billion (€2.03bn; £1.53bn), boosted in recent seasons by licence fees from such hit shows as Lost, Grey's Anatomy  and Ugly Betty. Toumazis' region accounts for around 70% of the overall foreign TV revenues.
