Motorola Calls off $150m Media Review Citing Economy

06 July 2001

Motorola has terminated the review of its $150 million global media duties in light of the sluggish economy.

“We decided that it was in our company’s best interest for the interim to stay with our current agencies,” announced the technology firm’s vp–corporate branding Richelle Franklin.

No doubt breathing sighs of relief are media incumbents Universal McCann in Los Angeles (lead agency) and MindShare Latin America. The duo had been participating in the review against the Los Angeles office of Initiative Media.
