Merry Baskin heads list of Warc authors

Merry Baskin, founder of planning consultancy Baskin Shark, heads the list of 2011's most read authors on

The list, which excludes Warc staff members, shows that authors who focus on explaining and interpreting best practice are likely to gain high download scores. (For more details about the most popular material featured on Warc in 2011, click here.)

Baskin has published six pieces on Warc in 2011, five of them as part of Warc's Best Practice series. She has looked at online panel research, managing agencies, global research, integrated marketing and global brand planning.

Andrew Green, Chief Marketing Officer at Ipsos MediaCT, is second on the list. He has also published a number of Best Practice pieces in 2011, focusing on understanding the audiences of different media.

Peter Field, a consultant, is in third place. Among the pieces he published on Warc in 2011 was an analysis of the entries to the Warc Prize for Asian Strategy. His work on the link between creativity and effectiveness has also been much-downloaded.

Former marketer Laurie Young also makes the list. His pieces in 2011 included detailed Best Practice guides to innovation, loyalty, segmentation, behavioural marketing and brand positioning.
