Merger Prompts Leagas Delaney to Launch Media Shop

10 November 2000

Following its acquisition by Canada’s Envoy Communications earlier this week [WAMN: 7-Nov-00], London-headquartered former independent Leagas Delaney plans to launch its own standalone media shop.

Leagas is in negotiation both with CIA Medianetwork and New PHD about possible joint ventures. Onlookers believe a deal with CIA is the more likely given its international muscle, but Leagas’s media balls are still seemingly in mid-air.

Says CIA chief executive David Wheldon: "We are chatting about the way forward. We would be delighted to help them with their media requirements." But as David Pattison, chief executive of New PHD points out: “We already have a relationship with them and they have talked to us in the past about extending this."
