Media usage data remains crucial in the crisis

Media usage trends just pipped advertising expenditure in the list of most popular data articles viewed on Warc during 2009.

An analysis of international media trends, based on an Ofcom report, came out ahead of Warc's forecasts of global advertising and global media trends, both of which were produced for the World Federation of Advertisers. Warc will be updating these pieces in early 2010.

Elsewhere, our advertising expenditure analyses for Europe, the US and Japan, and for the global advertising economy, also featured on the list. Again, more recent articles on these subjects can now be found on the Warc data page.

However, there was no escaping the shadow of the recession last year, as the popularity of our assessment of US media winners and losers during the downturn proved.
