MediaVest Appoints US Chief

NEW YORK: Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest has named Bill Tucker as US ceo, stepping into the shoes of Laura Desmond, who was promoted to ceo of MediaVest Americas last year.

Tucker, who has been with the agency network since 1997, was most recently president of client services and agency operations.

He will oversee media planning for brands such as Kraft Foods, Masterfoods, Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart and manage over 700 staffers in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Says Desmond, to whom he reports: "Bill is the right man for the job. His leadership qualities both inspire and motivate teams to deliver the impossible."
