11 April 2006

NEW YORK - The domestic diva's bonus more than doubled last year to $512,588, (€423k; £294k), up from $236,000 she received in 2004.
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia said in a proxy filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that Stewart also received $963,777 in other compensation, including $500,000 for her work on the short-lived reality TV show The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. This was on top of a base salary which rose slightly to $750,000 in 2005.
Stewart, formerly chairman/ceo of the company, completed a five-month prison term last March and served another five months under house arrest for lying about a stock sale.
