NEW YORK: Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia narrowed its third-quarter loss, beating analysts' forecasts, after magazine advertising sales and revenue from the Martha television show increased.
The net loss was $25.2 million (€19.7m; £13.2m) compared with a loss of $26.1m in the same period last year. Revenue rose 48% to $61.05m.
Advertisers appear to be returning in droves after the domestic goddess's conviction for obstruction of justice, imprisonment and subsequent rehabilitation [WARC News: 20-July-04].
The company reported ad revenue rose 75% at the publishing division, while broadcast revenue, including Martha's show on Sirius Satellite Radio, grew to $10.1m in the period, from $2.9m a year ago.
