FORMER SUN EDITOR Kelvin Mac-Kenzie has joined quondam TV-AM chairman Bruce Gyngell and Cable London founder Stephen Kirk to launch a new service - World Interactive Television. Billed as the world’s first web-based, interactive pay-per-view TV service, WIT uses internet connections and a premium rate telephone line to allow viewers ‘one-to-one consultations’ with psychiatrists and astrologers at a cost of £1.50 a minute. To prevent gullible couch potatoes incurring colossal credit card bills, each session automatically terminates after half an hour. The range of services may be expanded to include beauty consultations, agony aunts and dieting classes.
