Kraft's New Marketing Broom Sweeps Clean

24 November 2006

NORTHFIELD, Illinois: Kraft Foods' new chief marketing officer Jeri Finard has axed incumbent VP-global advertising services Barbara Ford.

Ford, the victim of a "rethink" by her new boss, will walk the platinum plank in January. Her axing is part of the struggling giant's attempt to streamline its management and marketing operations.

A search is in train for a new global head of integrated marketing and communications, a role that effectively eliminates the differentiation Kraft previously made between advertising and marketing.

It is thought that other 'old guard' heads may roll before the company is back on the recovery road.
