Kent Moves into Coke Hot Seat

03 July 2008

ATLANTA: The world's biggest soft drinks maker, the Coca-Cola Company, has officially enthroned its new ceo Muhtar Kent (pictured), who succeeds veteran Neville Isdell.

The latter is staying on at Coke as chairman - the first time the roles have been split – and is expected to remain until April next year.

Kent (55) has worked his way up through the Coke ranks since 1978. He was flagged as the next commander-in-chief in December 2007, when he was named president and chief operating officer.
