Jeeves Respectfully Requests 25% of Staff to Depart

Online search engine Ask Jeeves has become the latest casualty of the dotcom backlash with the announcement that it is cutting 180 full-time staff, some 25% of the total.

The company also warned it would spend $10–$12m restructuring in Q4, following its recent forecast of a higher-than-expected earnings shortfall [WAMN: 08-Dec-00].
