Japanese Consumer Confidence Dips

TOKYO: Japanese consumers are feeling less confident about the strength of the country's economy, according to a survey by the Bank of Japan which reveals 46.4% of respondents believe the financial outlook will deteriorate in 2008.

Price rises for everyday goods such as gasoline and food are blamed for the downturn. In addition, 86.3% of those surveyed believe prices will rise by an average of 7.3% in 2008.
