Interpublic Appoints Former Burnett Exec to New Post

Former Leo Burnett executive Stephen Gatfield has been handed a new role working across Interpublic Group.

Gatfield (45) is to become executive vp for global operations and innovation at IPG, effective April. In this newly created position, he will attempt to streamline operations across the agency group's networks and investigate new ways of working with clients.

The new recruit will work with Interpublic's senior executives and with the chief executives of its agencies. He will report to the group's ceo David Bell.

Gatfield left Publicis Groupe's Burnett, where he was global chief operating officer, last year [WAMN: 22-Sep-03].
