Intel Launches New Business Brand

Beleaguered computer chip maker Intel has unveiled a new brand designed to help businesses automate the management of large fleets of PCs.

Intel hopes vPro will help reverse its 38% first quarter profits decline and the loss of market share to rival Advanced Micro Devices.

The California headquartered firm's ceo, Paul Otellini likens the new product to a 'geek squad online' because it allows technical problems to be repaired remotely, negating the need for costly personal visits.

Otellini comments: "It's all about driving costs down and productivity up."

The brand is due to launch in the second half of the year.
