Hollinger Seeks Name Change

05 May 2006

CHICAGO - Newspaper publisher Hollinger International wants to change its name to Sun-Times Media Group in a bid to distance itself from the legal problems associated with the name and its former chairman/ceo Lord Conrad Black.
The company says it will ask shareholders to vote on the new name at next month's annual meeting in New York.
Black and several former associates are on bail awaiting a US trial for allegedly looting H-Intl of $84 million (€66.7m; £45.6m). All have denied the charges [WAMN: 19-Apr-06].
