Havas Board Sets Up Committee to Mull Dru's Pay

29 June 2005

Jean-Marie Dru, currently ceo at TBWA\Chiat\Day Worldwide, still awaits the formal call from new Havas strongman Vincent Bolloré to take the helm of the battered French marketing services holding company.

Dru, widely reported to be Bolloré's favored replacement for departed ceo Alain de Pouzilhac [WAMN: 23-Jun-05], has been left tapping his fingers on his desk while the Havas board ponders the appointment and its doubtless munificent remuneration package.

At this point in time, it is not even certain if Dru - who has remained silent since his name was first floated in the press - actually wants the job. Most observers, however, believe he would have spoken out by now had he decided the Havas hotseat to be uncongenial careerwise.

The Havas board, led by acting ceo Richard Colker, said the compensation and selection committee's brief is "in accordance with the independence criteria defined by the Bouton report and the Nasdaq rules."

The committee is chaired by Michel Boutinard Rouelle and its other members include Pierre Lescure and Pierre Bouchut.
