Harris Interactive to Merge with Total Research

Harris Interactive is to merge with Total Research Corporation, creating one of the biggest market research groups in the world.

Total Research will become a wholly owned unit of Harris, initially retaining its name in the US and Europe. The duo are expected to post combined revenues for their full financial years of $115 million.

Harris’s chairman/ceo Dr Gordon S Black will retain the same role at the merged entity, while David H Clemm, president/chief operating officer at Harris will take the post of vice chairman for global operations and internet research development. Al Angrisani, president/ceo at Total Research, will become president and chief operating officer at the combined company.

“The combination of Total Research and Harris Interactive creates a powerful new business model in the market research industry,” hyped Angrisani. “Total’s profitable custom research business, recognised for its advanced analytics and methodologies, combined with Harris Interactive’s consultative approach and robust data collection capabilities will create a potent force in the industry.”
