Meantime, in China, domestic search engine Baidu.com has launched an online video advertising service that allows marketers to post commercials on around 160,000 sites which already display text ads it has placed.
LONDON: Bebo has overtaken Google in the popularity stakes among UK web users, a result that will delight Yahoo! which has just inked an advertising deal with the social networking site.
Researcher ComScore says Bebo - headquartered in San Francisco - attracted 8.6 billion impressions last month compared with Google's 8.46bn. A year ago the site, which targets the 13-24 age range, was two billion pages behind the search giant.
Baidu TV will give advertisers access to more than 140 million Chinese web users.
