Global: Unilever Reports Q3 Rises in Sales and Adspend

Despite recent economic turbulence, consumer goods colossus Unilever increased adspend and enjoyed rising sales in its third quarter.

The Anglo-Dutch group said sales of its leading 400 brands rose 5% in the three months, leaving it on course for 4.5% to 5% growth for the full year. Earnings per share for the quarter are forecast to increase 10%.

Unilever added that it increased its advertising expenditure by 1% in Q3, and plans further increases in the fourth quarter.
