Giuliani Plans NY Tourism Push

07 November 2001

Rudolph Giuliani, mayor of New York, is planning a star-studded ad campaign to attract tourists back to the city following last month’s devastation.

Already lined up for the push – to be handled free of charge by BBDO Worldwide – are NY residents Robert De Niro, Woody Allen and Billy Crystal. Broadcasters across America are being asked to donate airtime for the campaign, whose tagline is ‘The New York miracle: come be a part of it.’

Also being prepared is a $40 million ‘I love New York’ effort to be rolled out across the globe.
